: Got hooked on this wonderful work. Have lot's of questions relating to Tolkien's relationship between characters. For example, why was Thingol caught up in the Nolder's oath? He was not present yet the he fell victom even though he never left Middle Earth. While men were said to be always a problem for the Valar, it seems that the Firstborn were the greater problem. Anyway, if anyone is interested drop a note.Make sure you also get "Unfinished Tales" it makes a good companion. I especially liked the expansion on "Of Tuor and his coming to Gondolin" Welcome to hardcore Tolkien!
