: : snip: :Great deeds are done by beings who take the chances, no matter what the odds. Those who lose, "foolish" those who win? "Heros". : Can you go against the odds, lose and still be a hero? Yes. : Can you go against the odds, win and still be foolish? Yes. : Being a hero isn't about taking chances, going against the odds or winning or losing. Being a hero is about WHY you choose to buck the odds and take the chances. : A hero is someone who bucks the odds, takes the chances and puts his/her life and well being in jeopardy, not for benifit to him or herself, but for the benifit of someone else. The difference between being heroically brave and foolishly brave has nothing to do with the why ov bucking the odds. Being heroically brave means doing what you HAVE to do. NOT being foolishly brave is doing it in such a manner as to decrease the odds against you without compromising your moralality. As examples: Option 1 - challenging the enemy to single combat. Option 2 - engaging the enemy with the strongest force practical. Option 3 - assassination.
