Feanor did not kill any of the Balrogs, though he battled with them. Glorfindel slew (and was slain by) a Balrog, though Glorfindel was not as mighty as Feanor, mightiest of the Eldar. Why? Because the Valar had pity upon the refugees of Gondolin, whereas they had none for Feanor and his sons. And this the House of Feanor brought upon itself.
