Had Elrond been King of all the Sindar then : perhaps Sauron would have been prevented from making The One.I don't see where Elrond had any such right at all, or how his being king of the Sindar in the Second Age would have prevented the Noldorin smiths in Eregion from being seduced by Sauron.
