: I think that, while the elves (and anybody else) would follow a strong leader of any heritage in time of crisis, the High King of the Elves could not be someone of another, or mixed, race.As there was only one High King of the Elves, Ingwe, that point is moot. However Fingolfin, Fingon, Turgon and Gil-galad were all mixed (Eldarin) race. Dior was mixed Adan, Elda, and Maia (though the point may be moot depending on what you believe he inherited (if anything) from Thingol). Of course JRRT said that Arwen was Queen of Elves and Men, she was mixed race. He also says that the descendants of Arwen were heirs to the Elf kingdoms of the West. They were mortals.
