I realize that he would have to attend to the tricky things personally but I wonder if he simply showed his more talented slaves how to and made them do the work. Biggest example is the Barad-dur. Did he build it solely by himself or did he use his rather large collection of "volunteers" to do much of the work?I don't think Sauron would do that much smithy work himself, unless it was something special. As to Barad-dur, the impression I have is that Sauron used his inate power to raise, or make, Barad-dur. When the One Ring was destroyed, Barad-dur was also destroyed. This would indicate that Barad-dur was not a mere physical construct, but was linked to Sauron's power. ~Aelmer
