I agree with Osric's contention that another force may be applied in order to create a wight or keep a soul in ME after the body has been destroyed or killed. For example we can look to the Paths of the Dead and the souls that were forced to remain there by Isuldur's (IIRC) curse. Obviously they were not created by the Witch King and thus it is conceiveable that other wights or spirits could maintain themselves in ME without the use of a Morgul blade or a Ring of Power.-RR
