exactly how much did Aule teach the dwarves?

i know when he made them he said something like "so i can teach them my arts".

but did he teach them before they slept or after?

was his knownledge just in there heads when they awoke?

it seems obvious to me that he could of quite easly have taught them how to purify and make allys with mithril... although i wouldn't put it past the dwarves just figuring it out by themselves if they weren't told.

look at Feanor.. he figured out how to make the sil... sure he had loads of other knowlegde that he had been taught... but the valar were surprised when he made them.. so surly the dwarves could figure out how to discover and use mithril.

feanor might be a bad example due to him being like the most inventive and knowledgable person of all the peoples... but surely a whole race of dwarves between them could acomplish something like the mastery of mithril by themselves (if aule didn't tell them that is)

P.s i think it is Ti...
