: coz if it was a woodden shaft... metal head.. it should be easy enough to fix another shaft on to a spear right?
: Or would the metal head have been "melted" (attached to...) the shaft? if so it might have been hard to re-fit a shaft.

Well I am taking a break from my studies. Alot of interesting threads. I think that Gild-Galad's spear was totally destroyed. Wasn't Gil-Galad burned by Sauron's hand? In which case he could have been totally burned up. Well I gotta hit the books....
