: : hmm.. why doesn't he just read a post or two???

: Actually, Tamim's question would not be answered by the obvious content around here.

: Many of the search engines look at the "theme" of a Web site and will serve up one or more pages from that site which conform to a theme related to whatever keywords the surfer types in. It's a very complex issue.

: Xenite.Org, with thousands of pages of content, comes up under thousands of different search terms, some them far removed from obvious science fiction connections.

: I created the domain as a means of collating four Web sites I had put together from the fall of 1996 through early 1997. These were "The Worlds of Michael Martinez" (a very large site on Compuserve, but all that remains is one page), "Parma Endorion" (now Parma Endorion, Revised Edition), "The History of Xena: Warrior Princess" (still called that, though it's much larger and works off a CGI script now), and "Xena Online Resources" (still around, still the Web's best directory for Hercules and Xena content).

: In the months after I created Xenite.Org I began adding content for Andre Norton and other SF topics. Eventually I decided to spend less effort promoting individual Web sites and more effort promoting the entire domain. Xenite.Org has grown to become what it is today as part of a comprehensive though sometimes ill-defined plan (and I keep adding new ideas and getting rid of old ones).

And here I was thinking that Xenite had to do with a rare ore. :-)
