There was no "choice of half-elves". Half-elves were normally born mortal. Only four Half-elves were ever given a choice: Earendil, Elwing, Elrond, and Elros. Although Boromir implies that Elrond's children might be considered "Half-elven", Elladan, Elrohir, and Arwen were actually born with "the lifespan of the Eldar" -- that is, they were born as Elves, but were given the choice of becoming mortal, I suppose because they had mortal blood.

The children of Imrazor and Mithrellas were, in fact, born mortal. Although Gilmith's death date is not recorded, Galador's is. He died in the year TA 2129 at the age of 125 (his son lived to be 143, and Galador's grandson lived to be 134).
