: I have some questions that came up after reading the shaping of Middle-Earth.

: I read that Orion (also named Telimektar) is the son of Tulkas. Orion and Turin Turambar fought Melko in the Final Battle.

Haven't read _Shaping of Middle-earth_ (save for leafing through in bookshops, not seen anything that makes me want to dive in)
but am intrigued that there may be more (in the evolution of Tolkien's creative processes if not in M-e background lore, about the star/planet/constellation names given during Frodo's encounter with Gildor.
Anyone know anything about these (in parentheses are my guesses, and that's all they are:)

Remmirath, the Netted Stars (the Milky Way?)
red Borgil (Mars? Betelguese?-if that's a red star, I'm not as up on star-lore as I once was)
the Swordsman of the Sky, Menelvagor with his shining belt (Orion?)
Anyone know if these names crop up anywhere in any stage of the mythology's development?
Idle curiosity, but...
