: And don't forget that quite often in the trilogy, it is said that whenever someone gets angry the swell in size. It happened with Gandalf and Aragorn, and it might have happened with Boromir as well. I don't think that they actually swell, (if you are speaking figurativly forgive me) I am more inclined to believe that if the tall men are angry, then they would be all the more frightening to the small hobbits and so suddenly seem bigger and more imposing than when they are freindly( a better word escapes me). And in response to an earlier message, seven feet strikes me as alarmingly tall! Maybe I would just be considered short in terms of people in middle earth, but seven feet to me is pretty dang tall. All I can say is that if Boromir was that big, I can understand why he scared so many people in the stories. I get scared thinking about it (being intimidated by basket ball players). I think I will read the Breaking of the Fellowship differently from now on.;-) Dulcinea
