: : What about in the LOTR when Boromir and Aragorn were pushing through the snow.. why didn't Legolas help push through the snow??: : I know that he could walk across the top of it.. but surely he could of helped if he was the same size as Aragorn? : : i am going from memory.. i don't have my copy of LOTR due to a friend borrowing it... so if he did help please don't look at me with too much discust...LOL : : Beren Valthôl : Well, I think that the different types of elves would be of differing heights. I would imagine the Noldor being at least 6 feet tall and well up to 7 feet 6 inches. The Wood Elves would probably be shorter. Not by much though. To answer your question, : I think that the passage they were clearing of the snow was probably just wide enough for two men. After all Argaron was pretty tall. I think that Boromir wasn't that tall. At the most 6'0. I remember reading somewhere that he was short for the men of Minas Tirith. Also doesn't it say he was much shorter than Argaron but more stocky? I would imagine elves being pretty powerful. After all Gil-Galad threw down Sauron and Fingolfin fought with Morgoth. Of course they were both Noldo. But then again Beleg Cuthalion(sp?) was a Sinda and he was pretty strong. All IMHO. Yes but Beren and Turin were men that the average elf would have had no chance against. I just always felt from my reading of the fellowsip that Boromir was a very thick limbed man and Legolas was slight of build. Elves and men both come in various sizes. Men are larger and stronger than woman, but some women could hold their own against any man.
