: I doubt if Boromir was 7ft tall, I just used that as an example. I see him as somewhere between 6ft-6in to to 6ft-8in. Something else to consider is that Aragorn is also tall. The Dundain and the house of the Gondor stewards tended to be taller than other men, due to their more pure Numenorian blood line.

Ok thanks for the answers.

I think Boromir would be a bit shorter than 6ft-6in because it says he is unlike his father and more like the men of Rohan (doesn't Eomer say this?).

So the Fellowship would have shaped up something like this

Aragorn: 6ft 8in probably of medium build

Boromir: 6ft 4in but stockier (stronger?) than Aragorn

Legolas: about the same height as Boromir but not nearly as thickly built

Gimli: about five feet and stockily built

The (pre-ent) hobbits were all about 3 1/2 ft tall

Gandalf: Gandalf seems to be able to vary his size. I'm guessing that normally he'd be about 6ft 2in.

These are all ESTIMATES and all in my extremely humble opinion.
