: Makes sense, but it i interesting that Saruman could project fatigue and discouragement over quite a distance while Sauron needed Denethor to be looking into the Palantir in order to brow beat him. Maybe Sarry is closer to Sauron in power than we usually think.
Two things to consider.
1. Distance from Barad-dur to Dargolad and distance between Barad-dur and Pelennor (I deem his power had influence there too). 2. Yes they migth be very much alike ... both being pupils of Aulė - both gone bad!!!
