: Would it be possible to issue everyone a username and password

I'm trying to avoid such measures, which really do nothing to eliminate the kinds of postings that I'm sick and tired of removing.

My new forum project was derailed by my two-week bout with vertigo and then the death of my stepfather, but I will eventually get back to working on those scripts. They, too, will have filters. Hopefully, those filters will be more sophisticated than what I have in place on these boards now.

I appreciate the suggestion, but it wouldn't work. I've seen what happens on other forums with required registration. The admins end up having to revoke posting rights as well as deleting messages all too often. Filters are not a perfect solution, but they may make the point with most of the people I most want to get the point.
