: of Tolkien as I've read to this point.Look up Verlyn Flieger and Paul Kocher if you haven't found them. There are TONS of literary critical works written about Tolkien. I waded through many of them when I was in college almost 20 years ago. And you know what? Most of the critics get the story wrong, too. :) Let's not even get into Shippey and the Rohirrim!
