: that. Sorry, but Treebeard does not say Orcs were corrupted Elves. "But Trolls are only counterfeits, made by the Enemy in the Great Darkness, in mockery of Ents, as Orcs were of Elves." Treebeard doesn't connect Orcs with Elves. There is nothing in THE LORD OF THE RINGS which suggests Orcs may have a racial connection with Elves.
