: here. Thank you! I think "first battle" is pretty much IT, if you're looking for something from the text. Apparently the Noldor were the folks who liked to name battles. The Sindar actually fought two battles before the Noldor arrived: the one in east Beleriand where Thingol won the day and the one in west Beleriand where Cirdan was driven back to the coast.
