: : : : : (1)The Noldor had no reason to "forgive the Valar for the first : : : : : ag". They had broken the ban of the Valar, particularly the : : : : : the Noldor who toak the oath of Feanor.: : : : : : : : There were only eight of them. : : : : It was they who had : : : : : to suffer to earn the forgivness of the Valar. Galadriel : : : : : and Celeborn are interesting cases as Galadriel, of all the : : : : : Noldor, did not swear the oath. : : : : Not correct. And besides Galadriel might have been the only one to whom the Valar did not give the permission to return after first age. : : ::SNIP : It is Correct, Only Feanor and his sons took the oath. None of the other Noldor did. At the end of the first age all of the : Noldor were pardoned and could return to Aman. Nowhere in text of the Silmarillion does it state that the remaining Noldor : (including Galadriel) HAD to stay in Middle-earth.. Many of them : left all the time. Say rather that Galdriel was fated not : to go since she had to redeem her sin of Huibris, by being tempted with and subsequently rejecting the ring wehn it was offered by Frodo. In this sense she has one of the most important parts in teh whole Mythos. Vomact: Once again: In YOUR original post YOU say and I quote "Galadriel, of all the Noldor, did not swear the Oath". This implies that ONLY Galadriel did not take the Oath, and ALL the other Noldor did. Tamim is correcting this by saying ONLY Feanor and his sons took the Oath.
Also you state that nowhere in the Silmarillion does it say that Galadriel had to stay in Middle-Earth. You imply that you believe Galadriel could leave for Aman if she wanted to. I will draw your attention to this Quote from JRRT: "After the overthrow of Morgoth at the end of the First Age a BAN was set on her [Galadriel's] return [to Aman]...". This quote is from The Road Goes Ever On (RGEO), which was published by JRRT in his lifetime and thus can be considered 'canon'. : : : : There was no "one ring" at the end of the first age. : : : : It is not implicitly stated in TLOR that any Noldor other : : : : : than the ringbearers departed with Gandalf and Frodo and Yes, it is implicitly stated. According to 'The Grey Havens' Gildor went with them. Also quote: "With them [the Ringbears] went many Elves of the High Kindred who would no longer stay in Middle-earth..." (from 'The Grey Havens'). The HIGH KINDRED are the NOLDOR.
: : : : Snip No offence is intended but I would like to inquire if English is your (Vomact's) second language?.
