I agree that the Balrog was a potent sorceror, but isn't that an argument toward it being a powerful creature in combat? Or at least, a creature "naturally gifted" with great power?Hmm, I was about to say that the Balrogs were never seen to create anything magical, but it's whip and flaming sword could have been of it's own making. If so, it's interesting that Glamdring (of Elven manufacture)proved to be the stronger. LOL, but I think I'm rambling into another post, so I'll stop at that.
