Currently, such a lng Silmarillion would exist only in the form of references. I am however, concerned, that once Tolkien's works pass into the public domain (60 years after the author's death, though I am not sure whether that is JRRT or Christopher), any publisher may publish the works. That means any publishers may publish what they consider to be the 'correct' Silmarillion, with potentially dozens of conflicting versions becoming available in high street bookshops. Maybe the academic canon should create an 'authorised' Silmarillion so buyers could know whther they are buying a freak variant or something 'official'.
