: hmm.. it isn't petty... it is probably true.. but it does sounds kinda cool having the bad guys ring cause the good guy pain.. which is complety the oppisite to the rest of the owners in the TASo then the rest of the people who handled the Ring were "bad guys"? Gollum I am willing to grant, though I would say that in his heart he was always good, but had allowed himself to be corrupted by the Ring. However, Bilbo and Frodo both did not burn, nor did Gandalf when he tossed the Ring into the fire at Bag End, nor did Sam, who knew he could not bear the burden of the Ring when he took it from Frodo's "corpse". That's a lot of people that we had thought were "good guys" who must, by your definition be "bad guys" since they were never burned by the Ring. ;) -RR
