I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. I'm a kind of new Tokien fan. I actually started out watching the animation movies. (Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and return of the king.) Even though LOTR wasn't a favorite among fans, I liked the movies including LOTR. Then again, I hadn't read the books yet, so I had nothing to compare them too.

And although I still love the movies, I can see where the complaints are. I just started reading the book my brother has had for a few years now. (Its a really huge red leather hard cover book with Lord of the Rings, Two Towers and Return of the King.) There are a lot of great parts (For as far as I've read which is only up to Chapter 6 right now in LOTR) and I can see a lot of the scenes edited out in the movie. I love the book's version with the longer conversation about the ring between Gandalf and Frodo, and about the elves finding Frodo Pippen and Sam and taking them to a safe place for a rest. Its an awesome book, but I still love the animation movies too. If it wasnt' for them, I'd never have been introduced to the Hobbit and LOTR. (My big brother is a big fan and God forbid I should have common interests with my brother, right? LOL)

Anyway. I've babbled on long enough. I just wanted to introduce myself. A little about me, I'm Andrea but everyone calls me drea or Dree for short, 23 (24 in September) year old singer/actress (did a little modeling) Martial Arts instructor. *Sigh* say that 10 times fast. lol. And I love Fantasy stories and movies. I was born under the sign of the Dragon on the Chinese Zodiac so I love stories about Dragons and Elves and now even Hobbits. Looking forward to getting into discussions with you all! (But you'll have to forgive me when I get things wrong. As I said, I'm only up to about Chapter 6 in the story, and Seeing just how much was cut out of the movies from what I have read, I obviously can't go on what I saw in the animation.) :-)

Drea. (PS. in the movie, Legolas says something to Aragorn in Elvin (And my brother says it is also mentioned in the book although it is by a character named Glorfindel) But What does Ai Na Vedui Dunadan.. Maegavonnen mean? I know Ai Na Vedui Dunadan means something like "At last we mean man of the west" or something. But what does Maegovannen mean?
