I may not have written that point clearly in my first post....which may have caused it to sound like I was saying Tom Bombadil wasn't important to the plot...(Although to me it doesn't sound like I said that upon re-reading what I wrote.) But you have to remember I'm not an expert writer like Tolkien. :-) Now if you'll excuse me I need to take a pain killer. I had knee surgery yesterday and I'm in serious pain. Hee hee. :-)
