It was an interesting statement made by Iluvatar to the then still good Melkor but after he caused the discord in the Music. Stating that there was nothing Melkor could do that wouldn't in the end serve Iluvatar's purposes. It almost sounded as if there was a chance Melkor would see this and possibly be reconciled to the One. Now I realize that this is a loose explaination but an intriguing one, I'm not even sure it's correct.
