Asside from your subject line, which is rather inappropriate, since no one was discussing Arwen's intelligence, only her speed while on a journey.

: Well one, dead ducks cant run . . .

That was the point . . . I believe it is called a metaphor.

: . . . but you can shoot em out of a cannon at high velocities.

Why would this pertain to the thread?

: Arwen and crew werent stupid, her mother was taken by Orcs while travelling via the misties from lorien and she had an escort.

Probably a very large escort, since she was headed to her wedding.

: Also Arwen had alot of time to read pent up in that little valley (ahh the ultimate "valley Girl "gag me with a mace Aragorn")and remember when Islidurs little party with the orcs post De-Sauronization at Orodruin??heck and he had a persanl Gurad of battle toughened Nu-mens by all accouts probvably alot more warlike and capable of handling themselves then the few rivendellers that decided to party at Minas Tirith.

I would disagree with this. ME wasn't safe just because Sauron was defeated. And "rivendellers" are probably not simple "partiers" that you make them out to be. I would believe them as capable of defending themselves as any others group of elves in ME.

Second, Arwen most likely had a large company with her, as would befit a woman of her status, not simplely a group of oportunisitic college drunkards, dancing and skipping to Minas Tirith.
