: This has probably been done to death on the use-nets, but I haven't seen it on the archives, so here goes:
: From the fall of Isengard to the Battle of the Pelannor Fields we get a detailed description of what's happening with Pippen ( down to what he had for brunch); about the same for Merry and the Rohirrim; but Aragorn- the guy who the whole book is named for- disappears, and when he finally shows up we get his story in a quickie flashback after the action is over.
: Now I know the argument is that he reappears for the big surprise last-minute rescue- but he's too late. The tide has turned, the cock has crowed, he comes in for the mopping up and to play Florence Nightingale.
: Is this any way to treat a King?

Hmm, yes, but remeber this is a Hobbit story, so naturally the adventures and exploits of the Hobbits should be centerstage.
