: Before I consider doing another major spoiler along the lines of "Tribut", I'd like to know if you already have seen this episode/will see it in the next days. If so, there's no use for me telling you something you already know. "Absolute Power" will air over here on Sunday, that's when I would write the spoiler if the interest is there.

We're still in reruns in Tampa, and if they stay on schedule according to the episode guide at www.thelostworldtv.com, we won't get new episodes for 2 or 3 more weeks. Nonetheless, I'd be interested in knowing what's coming up. Suspense was never TLW's strongest point. Their strength is in presentation.

As far as I can tell from the "official" website, the plot goes something like this:

The group finds a temple (I recall a similar Star Trek concept but I can't recall the episode title, just the name of the native maiden - Miramani) where Challenger discovers the crude etching of an atom (an early warning of a radioactive waste dump site?). He is then zapped by a blinding light (probably uranium radioactivity) and enters an alternate universe. In this universe, Challenger is out on the open plain during a thunderstorm (like an idiot) and gets popped by lightning. He becomes god-like in his ability to throw around lightning bolts (just call him "Zeus"). Somehow, Veronica gets captured and has her right wrist chained to a pole by the tribe du jour, where she kicks any tribesman that comes close to her (notice the new Teva sandals she's wearing). Challenger frees her by yelling out "I am Kirok! I am Kirok! Miramani!" and throwing his energy like Lt. Mitchell in another Star Trek episode (again, I can't recall the title).

Meanwhile, in the other universe, the others are free to walk around as they please, but pretty much just wring their hands and wail.

Back in the World of Challenger, he somehow becomes consumed with his new powers (just like the doomed Lt. Mitchell) and zaps Veronica when she protects Roxton by jumping in front of Challenger's bolt. She's killed and is placed on a ladder for her funeral pyre. Challenger then realizes the folly of his ways and realizes that he must use his powers for Good, and not Evil, and brings her back to life.

And then Adrian Paul of "Highlander" comes in and says "Hey! Those are the same animated lightning bolts I used in my show for my "quickening" scenes! You stole my special effects! There can be only one!" and he promptly slays Malone.

Am I close?

I've also identified the weekly cheesecake shot where she kicks the crap out a warrior while still having one arm chained to a pole. Only a Radio City Rockette dancer or an NFL punter can kick as high as that. There may be some other cheesecake shots as she runs through the jungle, but they weren't in the video clip. I'm sure the idea of Veronica getting captured by tribal warriors and being chained to a pole will attract the attention of quite a few people, but why is only one wrist secured? My local law enforcement officials always secure both wrists! If you're going to do light bondage, at least make it sensible.

This is definitely an episode oriented towards Veronica's and Challenger's characters' development and their relationship to each other. Roxton probably has some good action scenes and probably some good character development too, but its hard to tell just how much is done with him. I didn't see much of Malone, Summerlee, or Marge in the video clip nor screen shots, so their involvement is probably limited to writing letters to Gladys, complaining about old age, and looking for diamonds (respectively). Instead of having Veronica trying to save Roxton, I think the more logical choice would've been Marge taking the lightning bolt, to prove she cares for Roxton. But hey, any excuse to have Veronica in a shot is a good one.

Enjoy!
