Why is everyone picking on poor Ned. If you must throw someone to the wolves or raptors make it the writers. Malone & Roxton's relationship is big brother/little brother. Roxton is a lot younger then Challenger & Summerlee, he needs someone closer to his own age to hang with. Being the great hunter, dosen't help much when your stuck with a pair of science geeks. Malone is the answer to Roxton's male bonding dilemma. While Challanger & Summerlee are dithering about the flora & fauna or Margaurite & Veronica are engaged in yet another one of their verbal cat fights, the boys can go off hunting or fishing & tell each other war stories around the campfire. Roxton has someone to look up to him & teach things to, Malone has someone to look up to & learn from.

: : : Kruz as Riley? "I'll take you home again Kathleen" Riley?

: : Yep - that's the one. I think he was around for the first or second season and then disappeared. I kind of liked him as a secondary character on the show. He had a lot of promise. He was the character that could be the "good guy" in one episode, and an obstacle to be overcome in another, such as when he sealed himself in the Engineering section and broadcast messages over the ship's intercom. "And tonight for dinner we'll have...ice cream. But first, a bit of song..." (or something like that).

: First season only. He was in The Naked Time (mentioned above) and then got poisoned by Barbara Anderson in The Conscience of the King.

: : : 200 Quatloos for Veronica - LOL

: : All she needs is a long stick and a steel bra and she's ready to fight Kirk!

: : Or maybe he could be killed by a creature that burrows mine shafts and looks like a pizza. "We found these nodules deep in the rock, unlike anything we've ever seen before. Pure silicone..."

: Um, are we still talking about Veronica here? :-D
