Roxton and Marguerite meet Gideon and his mentor Davos. They learn that the boy is "The Chosen One", whose task it is to free his tribe - the Moya - from captivity by the Goths. Shortly after, Davos is severely wounded by a Goths-attack. Before he dies, Roxton has to promise him that he will help Gideon fulfill his mission. When they finally meet the Moya, they realize that the Goths want to annihilate the Moya at any cost.
