: Also worth watching is the scene where Ned gets swept up by a vine/tree and nearly devoured. A clip of the scene is used in the opening credit sequence of the tv series. The movie is also the only time we see the friendly tribal people that befriended Veronica after her parents disappeared. As I have mentioned before, there was a trend to show more cheesecake in the early episodes, and the pilot is no exception.

Stop the press. What ever happened to these friendly tribal people that befriended Veronica? Were they all killed or something? (I didn't see the pilot movie) If not, what's the deal? I mean these people were good enough for her the 11 years before the explorers came. I'm guessing here but I assume they are the ones who helped her really learn to kick butt and survive on the plateau.

I really do hope they all were killed or there was some kind of major irreproble (horribly mispelled) falling out or they all left the plateau, because if there weren't, that really doesn't say very much for Veronica to just completely dump them just because there are new, more interesting people on the plateau to keep her company. I mean, geez, she couldn't drop in to visit every now and then and vice versa?
