Ok, I know I'm going to get flayed for this one but ah well ... as the resident Veronica/Malone fan on the board (don't get me wrong, I love Marguerite/Roxton as much as the rest of you but my loyalty lies with V/M) I had to throw in my two cents worth on last week's episode, "Chosen One." :) The following quote is taken off the offical site's episode description: Kaya's kiss passes the parasitic creature into Malone. I maintain that Malone's actions were driven by the parasite's need to survive and that the drive was so forceful that it completely overwhelmed him's own will. Therefore, his actionswere not of his own accord and while they were hurtful (this I won't deny since I wanted to punch him too) he cannot be held 100% responsible for them.

Now please, tell me I wasn't the only one who noticed Malone acting totally out of character? I mean he yelled, no threatened Summerlee! Poor Ned was under the influence of Kaya's parasite, he didn't WANT to betray Veronica, it was like a drug induced state, against which he could not fight. Twice we saw the "real" Ned briefly surface, once while speaking to Veronica before following Kaya into the woods (by the by, where did she get that dress? I'm sure Veronica was not about to loan one of her Mother's and it didn't strike me as Marguerite's style either) and again when he tells Kaya he loves Veronica. Ok, I'll grant you he could have struggled against this alien force in his body a bit harder(I blame this on the writers) but as Summerlee pointed out, Malone was clearly infected. I hope this is only a set back for V/M since I think, esp. when they're happy (ie. the picnic scene in "Blood Lust"), they make a great couple. My advice to the writers is allow Ned and Veronica to handle the sweet, awkward first love stuff and leave the paaionate, angst stuff to Marguerite and Roxton because they're so much better at it! :)

Ok, a few more random thoughts and I promise to stop babbling.
- I was so proud of Summerlee for stepping in and doing the "fatherly" thing, looking out for Veronica.
- It was nice to have Challegner and Summerlee in the episode for more than two seconds
-Marguerite doesn't need anyone to protect her - you go, girl! :)
-Will Roxton ever stop being so noble? I'd like to see him take a walk on the wild side with Marguerite! ;)
-You knew this was coming, I was THRILLED when Malone said he LOVED VERONICA!!! Of couse it was rather anti-climatical with him having sex with a parasite the next second but hey, at least we know he loves her! :)
