:When Marguerite and Veronica get down to the river, they can find no trace of the four men.Ever since the initial spoiling of the Bavarians, er, Barbarians at the Gates episode I have never believed that the 4 men were dead. This confirms my suspicions. I *knew* there had to be some kind of body of water below (which I've said in the past)! Dead/unconscious bodies float to the top unless they are purposely weighed down by rocks. Perchance, they fell into another one of those More than Human whirlpools or worse still (but ironically not beneath TLW writer's) it was all only a dream to make whoever is dreaming it realize how much the team means to them. I'm going to put some faith in the writer's here and say that even the worse writer's in the world know that you don't kill off the favored characters in any viewer driven medium and expect to keep your fan base. You might be able to get away with one person if you add someone really fantastic (though you'll still lose a portion of your viewership you stand the potential of gaining alternate viewership) but 4 of the main characters in a 6 main character show when the romantic aspects and group dynamic is just now starting to get some kind of attention? Highly unlikely....unless they're looking to completely kill the series. Being as it's been picked up for another season and the fan base is really coming into it's own/becoming a force to be reckoned with, to kill off these characters, from a business POV alone, is just plain suicide. (Uh, writers, no show means you no longer have a job and with the job that you've been doing I wouldn't be too hot and heavy to join the job search for writing gigs.) I mean TLW has moved into number 2 for television action/adventure shows....not to mention it's one of the most popular shows that Telescene produces. The girls are appearing on Hollywood Squares this Week. A contest is in the works. Fan sites are springing up right and left as are message boards. This would hardly be smart financially to kill the show just as it's coming into it's home. Let's face it: Money makes the world go round....I just don't see any of the involved parties (Telescene, WB, the writers) pulling out a gun and shooting their cash cow. For no other reason (so long as it continues to accumulate and hold a strong fan base) it will not be killed because the financial potential and benefits are just now really starting to pay off.
