My Dear Michael Sinelnikoff and All My TLW Buddies from the Board,Imagine my surprise and dismay to come across this most horrendous news of Summerlee’s demise. In the words of Patsy Cline, “I fall to pieces” every time I think of this recent departure from sanity on the part of the writers, Telescene, or whomever is to blame for this imbecilic decision. I would like to add my usual two cents worth on this development and my meager words of praise (there’s not much I can add to what has already been expressed so eloquently by the rest of you) to our favorite professor. My Two Cents: I cannot understand the logic behind this decision. Blaming “focus groups” and marketing ploys does not seem plausible to me, specifically when there has been no advertising or printed statistics to back it up. I feel the plateau will be at a loss for good conversation, unerring judgement, and the soothing voice of civilization, not to mention the irrepressible twinkle in Summerlee’s eye. Although the most physically frail of the group, Summerlee never came across as less than a full member of the group. He often highlighted the humor of many a situation (my favorite moment was at the end of "Resurrection" as he interrupted Marguerite and Roxton on the porch.) that would otherwise be lacking from an episode and he never allowed the TLW group to doff their civility. Summerlee was the heart of the group, he eased Veronica’s pain over her parents, was among the first to bring Marguerite’s tender feelings to the surface (I believe he’s the ONLY one she never became angry with), and showed Roxton that a little age may slow one down but doesn’t keep him from being a hero. He will be much missed and when I finally get around to posting my fanfiction (somewhere), Summerlee will most assuredly be vibrantly alive in it! To Michael S.: My dear Sir, I cannot begin to tell you how much we shall miss your weekly performance on a show who’s best and brightest attraction lay in its actors. You have become a much-valued member of our community here and I cannot imagine it without your presence. Among the most thrilling experiences I have ever had was the first time I exchanged messages with you on this board. I was aghast to find that it was indeed you, bothering to exchange messages with a fan who has a tendency to babble on about her own two-cent’s worth on almost any topic. :) You are an inspiration and I look forward to viewing your new projects. The producers truly do not know what a gem they are loosing in not renewing your contract. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reaching out to your fans and we will ALWAYS be fans of you and your ill-fated Summerlee. I close with a Twenty-One Gun Salute to Michael Sinelnikoff, Professor Summerlee, and Everyone on this Board! Invictus Maneo! - Lizzie
