: The day that fans dictate the continuing plotlines of a : television series is a sad day for television. Decisions are : made for a reason, though the audience may not be aware : of them at the time. Let the chips fall where they may, sit : back and enjoy the show.At the end of the day, the viewers decide if they watch a show or not. When there are obvious points of criticiscm, you can either sit back and NOT watch the show, or you can voice your concerns. As Michael said, this is not about dictating plotlines. Though many on this board wish that we would have better (=more coherent and original) plotlines, no one seriously wants to have a show that is run by popular vote week after week. This is all about the attempted removal of a character that allegedly did not serve the "focus group", regardless of the importance of the character in the broader context of the show. The earlier decision to drop Summerlee was not based on some ingenious, long planned story development, but was a decision based on a rather dubious short-term market research.
