Yes, indeed: Pro7 were kind enough to send a copy of the double episode pilot to my hosts at their request, and we all settled down to watch it with some Apfelwein, Handkase und Musik! (That's apple-wine, fresh curd-cheese with chopped onion and vinegar - a speciality of the region around Frankfurt - why it's called Musik is still a mystery to me).
I'd already seen a copy of Ep.20 in German which Jan had sent me in Montreal, so it wasn't a total surprise. I thought the actor who did my voice in German was marvellous: after the shock of seeing myself so fluent in German wore off, I started noticing how well he'd captured the character. There were a couple of moments where the British humour I'd tried to put into some lines didn't quite work, but they were few and far between and in NO way spoilt the performance. (There's the old director speaking!) I don't remember his name, but congratulations!
And the other voices were excellent, although at first, I missed the diversity of accents in in the original. But I quickly adapted and enjoyed the new perspective on the all-too-familiar material.
There are three kids in the family (Felix 17, Julia 13 & Katja 10) and they had their friends in from time to time to watch it again, rather proud of the fact that the old codger on the screen was sitting reading a John Grisham novel on the terrace ... I left the tape with them as a souvenir.
When I spoke with an executive at Pro7 to thank her for sending the tape, she told me (beginning of June) that they still hadn't made up their mind about renewal. I didn't ask why, although I was tempted!
Lovely to see your vivid presence back on the Board - NOW things are back to normal again!
Greetings to you and Stefan
Michael S.

: Michael, I completely forgot to ask you this the last time we talked:

: Did you have a chance to watch and listen to the German version of the LW tapes, I think you were going to, didn't you? I am dying to know (just as the other plateau family members, I am sure!) what you thought of the "German Summerlee", LOL! It's funny: For me, personally, Professor Summerlee will always be connected to his German voice, because so far that is the only LW version we know over here. And even though it fits (as Jan put it so perfectly at the time: Quite the absend-minded professor!) I was still amazed at how much it differs from your real voice (which IMHO could beat Sean Connery's any time... *BUT*... enough flattering, we wouldn't want you to become VAIN now, do we ;-)))))? ).

: As for the boat trip: Since we were lucky enough to swap with another crew it is now going to take place during the last two weeks of July. We also have a trip planned to Aruba (two weeks as well) later this year, so lets just hope our cursed project won't ruin any of our holiday plans...

:
: Hugs and a fantastic weekend to all of you!

: Chiara
