: Kartas was shot with a round nosed-lead lead bullet from a .455 : Webley revolver in either the chest or stomach. Such a wound : would be equivalent to a high-powered hunting rifle and could : only be treated under those circumstances as follows: : A. The Shamanic tribe finds him and cures him magically. : B. A patrol of German soldiers finds him and takes him to the : hospital at Hans Dressler's base. After being cured, he is either worked as a slave or else becomes a German ally. : Well, what do you think? All perfectly valid, but by the same real world logic, Roxton should be dead. Even if the blade missed piercing any vital organs, and it must have been close to the spleen, I really wonder that he avoided peritonitis. A gut wound like that, under those primitive conditions, should certainly have put him down for a long time, more realistically killed him. Also, the angle we had on Kartas’ wounding was much less informative. I don’t begin to pretend to any more than a passing understanding of weaponry and ammunition, but it appears to me that he could have been turned enough that the bullet failed to penetrate his torso. He may have received no more than a flesh wound, and simply been lying dogo. He’d done what he could for Roxton, why attract further attention to himself? Heck, going back to the reality vs. fiction argument, even a penetrating wound might not be fatal on this show, despite what known facts suggest. Finally, Kartas himself displayed certain shamanistic capabilities. Therefore, we don’t know what self-healing he might be able to accomplish. Silver
