Roxton has a reloading press, which is used to fabricate cartridges by putting the ingredients together.
Lead(what a bullet is made of) and mercury(what detonates
the cartridge when mixed as a fulminate) are found
naturally. Copper and tin form brass, which can be stamped out to form cartridge casings. Smokeless gunpowder
can be made from wood pulp and a certain, naturally occuring acid.
By 1919(the year the show starts) clean fire smokeless
gunpowder formulas were common knowledge, of which Summerlee and Challenger would know of because they are scientists.
