G3A3: Roxton has a reloading press, which is used to fabricate cartridges by putting the ingredients together. : Lead(what a bullet is made of) and mercury(what detonates : the cartridge when mixed as a fulminate) are found : naturally. Copper and tin form brass, which can be stamped out to form cartridge casings. Smokeless gunpowder : can be made from wood pulp and a certain, naturally occuring acid. : By 1919(the year the show starts) clean fire smokeless : gunpowder formulas were common knowledge, of which Summerlee and Challenger would know of because they are scientists. : I hope this answers your question. Regards, G3A3Yeah, G3A3, but that there Hg fulminate is generally in the form of a primer. The reloading equipment assembles the cartridge, but the primer comes ready made. Extracting Hg from natural sources ( cinabar )is a toxic business and a mistake with an appreciable amount of it would renovate the tree house permanently. Every time I hunt fossils in a quarry I've got to watch out for Fulminated Hg blasting caps. We call it tip toeing through the mine field. Faustus
