: I used the term "harassment" reluctantly, and only intended in the context as has developed on the Internet. Emailbombing, whether intentional or not, is an annoyance. In this case I think the word suffices because though we have tried to express a collective voice it's not really the same as everyone sending in a written letter.
It is doubtful that anyone has "emailbombed" them. Not anyone associated with this board however. As a free citizen of this country, if I want to send an individual letter to any listed person whose information was not illegally obtained and whose context in no way violates any laws, I have the right to do so. PERIOD. With or without anyone's approval. If 300 or 400 other people chose to do the same, not my problem. You yourself run a rather large chain of sites. Do *you* consider having your "clientle" contact you as harassement? Do you not sometimes receive quite a high volume of e-mail? Is that not par for the course when you are in a public venture? Think about it.

: All I am asking is that people not use Xenite.Org to publicize Telescene's email addresses.
And you have the right to do that as it is your board. What you do *not* have the right to do is to dictate to people how they should or should not behave.

I haven't received any requests from the various television stations which carry THE LOST WORLD that they not be contacted by fans who are distressed over Summerlee's departure.
Because they understand that this sort of thing is inevitable in public ventures. I would have thought that you would as well.

Nor have I been asked by New Line Television that they not be contacted by fans who are distressed over Summerlee's departure.
Hello! You are not the boss of anyone but Micheal M. You have no control over what people chose to do in their spare time, what they are free by the constitution to do - write a letter. And you felt that you could not convey to them that while you would pass along their sentiments you have no control over us for *what* reason?

: I've only been asked by Telescene to convey to the fans that they are feeling overwhelmed by the email, and that they would appreciate our not making a difficult situation worse.
Wouldn't we all appreciate not having a difficult situation be made worse by other people's interference. Oh, my bad, that's a part of life.

We do seem to be singling them out for protest, after. They have borne the brunt of our fury.
Your point being?

: I perceive nothing malicious by any of the fans. I think that, as fan protests go, this one has been very well-behaved, and I continue to deplore the decision to drop Summerlee.
Really?

But I don't want to alienate Telescene as they haven't done anything personally to alienate me.
I personally don't care if Telescene feels alienated. If they had been straight forward with us from the beginnings they wouldn't have this problem now. Oh the tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. They played games. They lied. They dodged the questions and now they want to cry "No fair." Tough. As I tell my son: "You did it. Deal with the consequences."

By asking for some restraint on our enthusiasm I hope to provide a little mediation.
Is that what you are hoping? I think you've only managed to alienate many of the people on this board and others...well, you just managed to piss them off. Of course there are those now who will step up the e-mails to create that which they have been accused - emailboming and harassment. You've done well.

Good will shouldn't hurt anyone.
Well done the right way and with tact it usually doesn't.

Say Micheal M? Have you ever considered hiring yourself one of those Public Relations people? (grin)
