The sequence of evetns has been as follows. Around Easter, I told the Board that I wouldn't be back. This started the Save Summerlee campaign. As you all know, an official message was posted on this Board some time in May? I believe, saying that as a result of fan pressure, Summerlee would be returning for future episodes of Lost World. Since then, all efforts to get more information were unsuccessful: it appeared as though the producers were unwilling to either commit or deny, but hold their options open, AS IS THEIR RIGHT, and that the ground had shifted.Cynthia Lane did not contact me directly but chose to email Theresa, who posted the thrust of the email's contents, and contacted me personally to pass on the details. That was the the first I officially heard about it. I must say I was puzzled. I must hold the same position I have maintained all along: that I neither encourage or discourage what fans choose to do. If mountains are moved - and history is full of surprises - then I would be the first to react with pleasure at the idea of returning, if only for some guest appearances. We must all face the possibility that Summerlee might return, but Sinelnikoff might not be chosen - that too, is their right. I can't thank you enough for all your support, and the efforts you have made on behalf of the Prof. in the Jungle. Michael Sinelnikoff : Michael: It occurred to me that when I posted the news from Cynthia Lane regarding your role as Summerlee that it may have been news to you! Were you made formally aware of the fact you would not be in Season 2 by Telescene before I was sent and subsequently, posted the message? IF NOT, I am terribly sorry to have been the messenger -- the one that sometimes gets shot when the bearer of bad news. : If you have followed the recent trail of messages, WOULD YOU MIND IF WE CONTINUED OUR PROTESTS TO RETURN YOU TO THE ROLE OF SUMMERLEE? We are about to embark on a bigger and sharper campaign on your behalf -- tackling some of the other parties who may have made (or been more involved than we knew)this awful decision. As Steve F. wrote, I, too, watch the show for its intelligent acting. Your character contributes significantly to the mix. I truly may find no reason to enjoy it next season if these odd bits of news -- the "sleeker" Veronica, more "buff" Roxton, FHM article, etc.-- mean the show will just be another T&A vehicle. : PLEASE LET US KNOW. After all, if we do manage to move mountains, it would be terribly disappointing if you weren't there to replace them? : Theresa:)
