I like this guy. Steve Faust: Diving in Headfirst: : Micheal is right - this is a case of one hand not knowing what : the other is doing. : Cynthia Lane works out of Montreal, not New York, and in no way : attempted to mislead anyone. If she was unclear or vague on the : absolute certainty of Summerlee not returning to the show, it was : not out of some evil empire, cloak and dagger, let's keep their : hopes up and crush them at their most vulnerable type plot, it : was because like this board - and like any business - we have our : own rumor mill and our own etiquette. When ANY actor leaves ANY : show - for ANY reason - the details are never discussed, in ANY : public forum, let alone one so public as this. Whether it be a : production-related issue, a financial issue, a personality : conflict, whatever - if no one goes around blabbing the who what : when where and why - then the actor and the production company : can continue with an amicable working relationship - the actors : have more roles offered to chose from and the companies have : access to the best actors. : As to our rumor mill - yes it exists! - and it is ironic to me : that the probable reason anyone in New York thought that : Summerlee was returning to the show is that they heard it from : someone up here in Montreal - and that the only thing : Summerlee/return related we could have possibly been talking : about is your board and your enthusiasm and your quest. : Your Quest - I LOVE IT!!! But really - Cynthia Lane isn't the : best person to help you - and I certainly am not. But I can give : you some ideas. Do talk to CooteHayes and NewLine too, but send : short sweet messages - every one of you, even the lurkers. : Arguments and lengthy soliloquies aside, numbers are what count : here. One great letter that states all the reasons in the world : why Summerlee is essential to the show don't count as much as : five short notes saying that you are disappointed in the decision : and can't imagine the show being worthwhile with
