: Exactly. Crichton is the way the audience can relate to the Farscape universe. We piggyback on him to experience truly alien cultures. He is the foil for all the other characters. There is no light without shadow, there are no aliens without humans to play off of. Half of Aeryn's significance comes from her looking human without being truly human. What I consider the amazing part about Farscape is that the aliens are written so well that I could enjoy an episode without John in it. The show couldn't work without him in the long run, but to see D'Argo back among his people after all he's been through would be a fascinating episode. I'd love to see Pilot relating to his people before he met Moya. And, if someone does some really strong writing for Rygel, I might stop wanting to feed him to Jabba the Hut.;) Now, don't forget this either. Rygel was King to over 600,000,000,000,000 people or more before being cast down into hell hole to be victimized and tortured at the hands PKs like Durka. Aeryn was a hard line peacekeeper commando who didn't experience much of anything except KILL IT! KILL IT! KILL IT! until then D'argo was a warrior who was captured, tortured, rescued, got married, wife killed, son abandoned, captured again, tortured again, and then escaped AGAIN. So he gotsda issues. Zhaan murdered her lover in cold blood as he turned tyranical on her and then became a priest only for that to start discentergrating on her. Chiana was about to be brain blasted by a bunch of ant farm zealot freak boys who were once her own people and had run away and live and work off the streets most of her life. And Pilot, well, TWWW kind of explained what his problem has always been pretty clearly. Up until he was Mind Raped by Scorpius in the Comfey Aurora Chair John was the only sain one in the group! And because he was always there for everyone in the first season, the crew still go to him talking about their problems inspite of his bad attitude lately caused by him being "victimized"(as Ben Browder so put it in a recent interview.) Come to think of it. That would be cool. It going full circle... John being there for them and then them being there for John later. Kind of Kharma, Dharma, Yin-Yang, type of thing.
