I have nothing against a little romance in the show...I think it'd be a little unrealistic for that many people (can I use this word? LOL) to be in that close of quarters for so long without a little somethin somethin happening. BUT! (knew that was coming didn't you?) I do think it's a little...oh god I'm not even sure what adjective to use, nothing seems right....boring, normal, tried-and-true, unimaginative (pick one I guess) for them to pair the stereotypical cute guy and the stereotypical cute gal in a romance. I was expecting more from a sci-fi show that seems to take risks elsewhere. Nothing againt Aeryn or her portrayer, but I had hoped they wouldn't do something as easy as pair Crighton with the woman most human. I know, I know, she's alien, but she's not alien like the others now is she? It almost seems a little typical American tv cliché to me....what show is there that doesn't pair the beauty and the hunk even if there is someone out there on the show more suited but less attractive, thin etc. etc? Not many. That's why I like the idea of John/Chiana or even John/Zhaan. They aren't the norm in acting or looks or next to anything. With John/Aeryn it just seems like anything I could see flipping through the channels. (with all due respect of course to all of those J/A shippers out there-more power to you!) I guess I'll just have to be a frustrated viewer in this regard |
