: : He didn't look Scorvian to me, but then, I wasn't trying to

Are you suggesting Metalla was surgically altered? I thought the Scorvians looked much the way she did.

What I think would be cool for Scorpius would be if he achieves something with each defeat, thus frustrating John and the other members of Moya's crew. The problem with recurring villains is that they become trite. They HAVE to be defeated by the heroes, so eventually the audience goes, "Ho hum, he'll escape out the window again."

STARGATE-SG1 is starting to have this problem with Apophis. They've reduced him from an extremely powerful Goa'uld System Lord to just another flunky with a bad ray-gun. The last time he made an appearance he made a BIG comeback, and he was not defeated by the heroes. That's a big change right there.

But Crais has definitely suffered from Overused Villain Syndrome. He's just not that big a threat because they defeat him every time he goes up against them. Even this time, when he tried to deceive John, he didn't catch on to the fact that he'd blown his chance by saying everyone on the ship was healthy. John was all but shouting, "There's SOMETHING wrong with at least ONE of them, you moron!" But Crais didn't get it, so he overplayed his hand.

He's just not a productive villain. He needs to get some Peacekeeper Therapy or something so he can get his edge back.
