: : : Someone still should have noticed a leviathan coming into
: : : orbit around the gas giant.

: : I have a theorie. They hide the base by not attracting anyone
: : to themselve. If they had patrols or obvervation posts, sooner
: : or later, someone will be curious enough to check out why these
: : things are happening around a lonely moon.

: : what do you think,

: The same thought occurred to me, but they apparently don't even have passive sensors. And observation posts could be hidden as small lumps of rock orbiting the gas giant. I'm just not convinced the whole idea of sneaking Moya into the gas giant's "shadow" is plausible.

Ever heard of the saying "the best hiding place is out in the open"(I talking about the base). Crichton observed the moon appearance of being nuked. The neighbors might believe it to be a dead world. The base itself is probably under communication silence, unless necessary in the atmosphere.

Observation post would still have to transmit to either the base or a patrol. Transmition still can be detected, no matter how well diguised as spacial anomolies. By the time the detected ship is taken care of, there is a chance the ship would transmit a warning of a PK presence.

The planet itself probably has passive sensors only for scanners
can be detected.

Someone would be curious is to why ships are disappearing in area of space where there are detections of signals coming from a supposivly dead moon.

Any comments?
