: I don't know if he would have or not. I don't like to think that he would have, but Chiana seemed REALLY scared when he had her pinned against the ship. On the other hand, his rally cry of "humans are superior!" has a certain ring to it; he does seem to be one of the strongest characters on the ship. His intuitions are right more often than not, and he seems to be best suited to thinking his way out of scrapes (regardless of the accustaion that humans are 'slower' and less evolved than any race ever encountered)he certainly is becoming more the leader. could this be a natural evolution of the character as he gets more familiar with inter-species relations? also, he is the only one of the crew, except for possibly zahn, who has a scientific background. as such he is used to being required to think his way through problems. analytical thinking and all that. i do think that the writers wanted us to believe he was capable of raping chiana. i do not know if i would ever have thought crichton capable of this, even under the influence of some alien. but the scene did play that way rather effectively. might the writers be working on a ratings boost by introducing more violence to the show? -j
