: i think you may be selling the series short. yes, there is violence in the show, but it is not violence based. one must keep in mind that two of the characters come from warrior societies. as such, violence is to be an expected reaction from them. however, crichton is a research scientist who is more accustomed to solving problems with his head. saving the crew with an atmospheric acceleration maneuver (first or second episode)seems pretty cerebral to me. and zahn is a pacifist: enough said there.

: also, consider that initial offerings are always lacking. it takes time to develop characters into something resembling well rounded personalities.

: while purchasing dvd's is an expensive way to enjoy a television series (as opposed to cable bills) i do think that may of us have enjoyed the ride quite a bit. i hope you do not miss out on a good experiece by having passed judgement too quickly.

Well said. My sentiments exactly. Don't give up too soon.

I made the mistake of making a quick judgment about Farscape solely based on how D'Argo looked in a preview. Because I thought he looked kinda silly, I missed the entire first season except for the finale. The finale sparked my interest. Fortunately, the Sci-Fi channel started airing the "best of Farscape" and I have been hooked ever since.

Lesson: Give it a chance.

P.S. D'Argo is now one of my favorite characters.
